It’s Woman Crush Wednesday, and the tsunami mamí—soon to be a mommy is glowing and harmonizing her way into my heart. Kehlani has been working hard on a mixtape, and an album all while being pregnant. Kehlani is a talented 23-year old singer from the Bay. But there’s more to this Oakland girl than meets the eye. Kehlani has ventured into the tech world and is a co-founder of the Flora Living app. An app that encourages young people to make positive changes not only for themselves but also the environment. Kehlani is also the co-host of Sunday Gems, a podcast she does with her best friend, Reyna Biddy.

Kehlani released the first single, for the then nameless mixtape, “Nights Like This” featuring Ty Dolla Sign on January 10th. Kehlani left bread crumbs throughout social media with snippets of songs and hints at titles. We recently received the official mixtape title, along with another single and the project’s release date. Tuesday the second official single “Butterfly” released and gave us another layer of the multi-layered Kehlani. The singer is keeping us all on edge, as each day she has news fans are not sure if the news is about her music, baby, or other career goals. The mixtape is ironically named, While We Wait.
