Simmie Sims III, a is a rapper and singer from Compton, California under the stage name of, Buddy (nicknamed by his sister at young age). This young talent has worked closely with Pharrell Williams, after joining the Star Trak records roster. In 2011, his proper debut single, “Awesome Awesome”, was produced by Pharrell Williams. After recording more tracks, Buddy released his mixtape Idle Time, in 2014. The mixtape featured collabs from Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, and Miley Cyrus. The next few years, tracks were released leading up to his 2017 EP, Ocean & Montana. A project that featured five tracks, recorded with Kaytranada. Following up the EP’s success with Magnolia EP, solidifying his foundation in the music industry. Now in 2018, Buddy is ready to take center stage with his debut album Harlan & Alondra.

The 12-track album includes collaborations with Snoop Dogg, A$AP Ferg, Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign and Guapdad 4000. Production is handled by DJ Khalil, Mike & Keys. Jahaan Sweet and Scoop DeVille, among others.
