Myself: Kiana Ledé Releases New EP
Kiana Ledé showcases the next chapter of her music career with her latest project, Myself.
Friday, June 7 Midnight ET - Kiana Ledé has released her latest project, an EP entitled Myself. The EP is the first full project from the singer since her Selfless EP released exactly almost a year ago. Myself features six records, including lead singles “EX” and “Can I.”
Kiana has come a long way since her Kidz Bop Star USA competition in 2011, her role on MTV’s Scream (she portrayed Zoe Vaughn), and her #SoulFoodTuesday (#SoulFoodSessions) on YouTube. Since then, Ledé has been touring and creating more buzz from the success of Selfless.
Myself shows the versatility the young songstress poses while still having her own unique style. Kicking off with the single “Can I”, a track that deals with Kiana contemplating all the emotions she is feeling about a guy she likes. Up next is “Shawty” sitting at track two. “Shawty” embodies the emotions Kiana feels for her lover even though she needs to take a step back. The first feature on Myself, “Bouncin” ft. Offset sits at track three providing a fun, upbeat dance record.
The second half of the EP takes us to deep cut ballads, about love and oneself. “If You Hate Me” comes in at track 4 to introduce the layer of Kiana lying below the surface. The final feature on the project, “Heavy” ft. Jenifer Lewis has Kiana delivering her honest take on how life can be heavy. She speaks about dealing with her anxiety even when things seem to be working out; she still feels the weight of the world. To close out Kiana’s Myself is “EX” the track that was introduced on her Selfless EP and garnered her critically acclaimed success.
Myself is available everywhere for streaming and purchase.
