This week’s must-see TV series is Legacies the latest spinoff of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, on The CW.

Legacies follows the lives of the next generation of supernatural beings in Mystic Falls. The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted is home to Klaus Mikaelson's daughter Hope (played by Danielle Rose Russell), Alaric Saltzman's (played by Matthew Davis) twins Lizzie (played by Jenny Boyd) and Josie (played by Kaylee Bryant) , and other young adults who are coming of age as witches, vampires, and werewolves, nurtured to be their best selves and overcome their evil impulses. They work together to protect what they love, with the occasional teenage hijinks.

The series is true to the mystical but suspenseful tone of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Legacies also introduce us to an expanded world of supernatural beings thought to only exist in fairytales. Legacies is an authentic, fresh, and fun show with great laughs and tear-jerking moments throughout each episode. The series takes place in the future after the events of The Originals series finale with a now teenage Hope Mikaelson.

Throughout the season thus far we have been given many Easter eggs that pay homage to the OG TVD universe. So, if you were a fan on The Vampire Diaries or The Originals, you will enjoy Legacies.

Legacies have made waves with critics and fans and have officially been renewed for a second season. But for now catch up with season 1, which will feature 13 episodes in total. Legacies airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.
